Unless things have wildly changed, you will only need your valid driver's license and proof (a bill) of your current residence in the new state. The chief exception is if you want to change (upgrade) your driver's license - like drive a truck, bus, or cab in new state and didn't have that type in Texas. You do not yet need a passport to do stuff inside the states as you do outside or to get back in.

You will primarily need either a valid U. S. passport or birth certificate if you are a citizen.
If you are a resident, you will need to be able to show that you are legally here in this country by producing an Alien Registration card( "Green" card)
A bill with a current address on it.

Usually something that establishes residency in your new state - such as water, lights, or lease. You will also need your old license from Texas.
