Depends on the kind of guitar. Many have graphite nuts on them so there is a distinct similarity to coal. Of course, not all electric guitars have graphite nuts.

Also, you could burn both for fuel, I suppose. That wouldn't be the domain of a physical scientist, per se.

I can't see any connection, it would be like the Beatles strumming on a piece of coal each and gyrating around the room in black face.
