Let's get something clear here. The penis is not a muscle. It is a blood tube, that is all. The more blood in it, the harder it gets.
As far as longevity of erection..
It depends on a lot of things, your age, physical condition and degree of arousal or sexually stimulation...etc.
If you are on Viagra, four hours would be an approximate. If you are young, you don't need Viagra, and I would not recommend it at all, unless you suffer from erectile problems.

as long as you're aroused but if it stays up while your asleep, that is all night, i'd suggest you see a physician. its a condition called priapism and it could be an indicator of something wrong!

About four hours; then call your physician if your erection lasts longer than four hours...if you partner lets you, that is!
