Yes, my best friend. I signed up on a singles site. I wasn't sure what exactly what or who I was looking for. I was perfectly happy being alone after a miserable marriage. I had never gone on a singles site before, but something compelled me to. I contacted a few guys with no positive response. I had seen one guy's picture but I couldn't bring myself to contact him at first. From our profiles, we didn't have much in common, but I kept looking at his picture and I knew that we could be friends. After three weeks, I sent him a message and finished my message with "check out my profile. If you're interested, contact me. If not, you'll have missed someone worth knowing". I told him that I felt that I was a bridge in life to others. That I was here to touch their lives for a brief or extended period of time and I was here to make their lives better. He emailed me his phone number right away. We talked the next evening for 2 1/2 hours, the next evening for 1 1/2 hours and I invited him to pick me up at my house that Saturday. This man changed my life. He is an instructor in kung fu, Tai chi and Qigong. He also does spiritual counseling. In the next two months, he became my best friend. We opened a school together and he moved in with me. He has a six year old daughter who is just so adorable. We are not romantically or sexually involved. That was two years ago. In our school, we have forty full-time students ranging in age from 4 to 60 years old. Many of the students are high school and college age, still deciding their paths in life. We are touching and changing peoples lives every day.
I wasn't looking for a family, but I was brought the two most wonderful people I have ever met, my best friend and his daughter. I wasn't looking to open a school, but I always wanted to guide people and make their lives better. Follow your best instincts; follow your heart and you will be brought exactly what you need, not necessarily what you thought you wanted.
