i am buying rings online, in hopes that it will last long, and look great over time.

what does it mean, when the ring/band is said to be "sterling silver polished band"?

does this mean it's not real silver??

(note: the website does not mention anything about 925 silver)

It is real silver. By polished, they are talking about the finish of the ring, i.e., it is a polished, shiny finish as opposed to a satin or matte finish.

Silver polish can take care of tarnish, but to fill in scratches you'll likely need jeweler's rouge.
