I mourn for America’s loss. It was a loss of a hero, and will be the loss of some rapidly dwindling innocence, if they replace him with a more violent “grim and gritty” anti hero. We don’t need that. I am afraid that they may very well put some phony in the Captain America suit, however.
Comics are not meant to reflect reality. Those who feel otherwise should write novels, not comic books. It is screwing with the genre, to its detriment, and possibly to its destruction.

There used to be a saying among comic book enthusiasts about the death of a comic book character: "Only Bucky and Jason Todd remain dead, anyone else's death isn't final."
Now, taking into account that both Jason Todd and Bucky have been resurrected recently, Cap's death will have zero impact. He's an icon (a rather lame icon, I know, making even the boy scout Superman look edgy, but an icon nonetheless), so he'll be back just like any iconic comic book charater who's ever died has done.

As opposed to the death of Superman, Green Lantern, Robin, the "breaking of the Batman, the Blue Beetle, and countless others that have passed. No, he will come back, through some wierd something or other, or someone else will don the outfit and take the name. But they always return.

comedian e book sales are actually not precisely up there as they as quickly as have been interior the 80s and early 90s, in spite of the reality that they are slowly increasing and getting out of a decade-long droop. i think this loss of life of a considerable character will convey a solid element of the universal public into comedian shops. regrettably, people who're not customary comedian e book clientele will sock that loss of life subject away and picture it will sooner or later pay for their youngster's college preparation like countless human beings theory whilst they offered those "loss of life of Superman" subject concerns in 'ninety 3. those little ones have not taken out student loans at this factor. yet I digress... besides, i don't think of it became right into a super thought. If it rather is ask your self's thought to accomplish a little form of "rapid restoration" to basic comics sales, then this "answer" is momentary. very comparable to Valiant Comics did interior the early 90s, they're as quickly as returned finding for the thank you to cater to the speculator quite than stumble on different techniques for marketplace penetration. they ought to as a manner to counter the domination of the video interest marketplace besides as different enticing media. i don't think of we've seen the final of Captain usa of america. in line with possibility somebody else will don the gown and Steve Rogers will at long final relax in peace. yet what the best Captain symbolizes and represents can not die....

He'll be back. They always come back eventually. If I had a dollar for every comic book hero that "died" but ended up back again... I'd have about $50. Won't pay the rent, but it'll give me a good night out!
