I will not tell you about the makeup, glitzy&glam part!
What really matters is inside you. Even if you are.. overweight or "ugly" if you say things that come from your heart, you will win.
Don't go saying all those lying stuff like "I WANT WORLD PEACE" because the judges already heard that stuff !!
Say something unique like
"I wish for my beauty and unique-ness will spread onto others."
Something like that!

The judges can see you and your child's attitude: are you showing you are there for fun, honesty, family togetherness....or are you die-hard, snobby, sleep all night in a tanning bed type? if they ask the child something......let them answer it..don't try and prepare them for it...kids can say the cutest things on their own.
as far as the appearance let her wear something her age..don't make her look like she is 7 going on pregnant 17 for example. use little make up as possible...just enough to look good for any lighting or camera issues. As far as hair.....I would have to see her and the outfit
