Bill is STILL black. I have no idea why he's set you off unless of course its been his preaching that "SOME" Black people need to have respect, learn to take responsibility for their actions and get off the drugs and welfare.
This can apply to even white people I know. So whats the beef? Is his concern for black people rubbing you the wrong way? He's far from an Uncle Tom and perhaps a lot closer to wanting to see King's "I Have a Dream" become a total reality.
You wont find respect shoving a gun in a brother's face or any other race's face. You wont gain admiration from doing drugs except from thugs. So Bill Cosby wants blacks to be above board and SHOW they are important and not trash. And thats wrong? I don't see it.
If i am reading you wrong I apologize. You didn't explain yourself. And I might add you made a statement NOT a question.

Bill Cosby is still black.
Stay in school
Stay out of trouble
Don't idolize prison culture
If you have a child, be a parent
These phrases, gleaned from some of what Cosby has said recently, would be good advice to anyone. Anyone.

Well I personally am glad that he has had the courage to stand up and say the things that he has said. I understand that his view might not be Afrocentric enough for you and I am sure that it must irritate you that he seems to be speaking directly to you when he is addressing problems that he sees within his community. But you only reinforce his views when you try to tear him down for voicing his opinion.

Bill has not been the same since his son was murdered. I'd cut him some slack.

He has come down pretty hard on the black community lately. Do you think it has something to do with the pain of loosing his son?

last time I Iooked he still was black. Oh you don't like who he is as a person. Ask yourself what it is that he wants for the black man, then ask why you don't like that.
