Here is the right way to do it on the netgear.

Type in 192.168.0.1 on your explorer browser, netgear log in box appears. Log in the do the following.

Under set up click on wireless settings Under wireless access point UNTICK enable wireless access point and UNTICK allow broadcast name. Then TICK wireless isolation.

Make sure you click apply at bottom of screen otherwise it won't change your settings.

For additional security click on 'set up access list', make sure where it says at the top 'turn acces control on' that it is UNTICKED.

Click apply at bottom of screen.

Hope this helps/Netgear DG834G owner

Yes.

Make sure you goto your Wireless Settings tab and turn off the feature called SSID Broadcast. That prevents others from seeing your signal and allows for ethernet use.
