Yes, you can. 22 mag is longer so any gun that will handle it will handle the 22 LR rounds as well as longs and even shorts.

Your manual should state this quite clearly if you still have it.

If you have an auto feeding pistol you may have some feed problems though.

22 shorts are really nice for target practice and teaching as they are even quieter. They are good for nailing rats too.
