I am a freelance web developer, and I am (of necessity) using Dreamweaver for the first time. I have finished and tested the site, now I want to publish it to the web. I may be crazy, but I CANNOT find a button or link to publish the site. What do I do to get this online? I already have hosting, domain name, passwords, etc.

Hello there!

Go to Site > Manage Sites > Edit > Remote Info
If you haven't already set up a FTP account for your website this is where you would put in the info to connect to your server.

Once that is set up you should be able to 'put' files on your website. If you look above your folder structure in dreamweaver you should see a few icons

(Connect to Remote Host) (Refresh) (Get Files) (Put Files) etc...

The 'put' will update your files to the domain and directory you specified in your remote settings. GET will grab everything and put it on your local folder.

As always, be careful because you will be overriding files when you get/put

Right click on the files you want to push to the site and select Put. That is all you need to do, if you already have entered the web servers information.

If you have not, you need to enter the correct information into the Site Definition. Then you will be able to push the files to the site.

It's simple really. Just download a template you'd like then after that upload the 'index' file onto your site wth all the graphics to an image folder on your site such as http://bravehost.com/ which is free and you can edit the index file and add what you'd like.
