A good sniper rifle, of course.

Do you have any debt (credit cards, mortgage, etc.)? Paying off debt is a great thing to do with extra money you have sitting around. If you have debt, technically the $2500 isn't even yours, because it is not a net-worth of yours. Today, more and more people are considering positive net-worth to be more prestigious than fancy cars and homes. Even if it means driving a twenty year old oldsmobile to make it happen.

Or you could buy precious metals. They're doing really well and are expected to do even better still. I use BullionDirect.com. You can choose to have the precious metals sent to you, or you can have them hold them, with you owning them on paper. I like to be able to hold possessions that I own, but if you keep them on paper, it's easier to sell them again (you can sell them through bullion direct again), and you don't absorb the expenses involved in shipping and handling, etc. The nice thing about precious metals is that it is a safe investment... they're never worth zero. Another thing to consider about having them sent to you is that in an armageddon-type situation - if you believe in that stuff - dollars and change won't be worth a thing. People with precious metals will be the only ones who carry any true currency. When Pol Pot devastated Cambodia so ravagely, many Cambodians (those who could, anyway) fled to America, using small bags of gold coins for shelter, food, transportation, etc.

You do something for someone else - either give $250.00 to as single mom who is struggling or to a local chairty you believe in , spend $250.00 on something fun and just for you and then Invest the rest! Either in a savings account or contact a financial advisor. Your remaining $2000.00 could multiple over and over again with investment. Any other thing you buy will be gone before you fully get to enjoy it.
God Bless

Put $2000 in a 6-month CD (ask your bank)
and spend the rest on your mother.

Do you need a car?
Are you going to school?

Can you pay off anything you already bought?

If not, go to the bank and ask for something with a high return you can invest in.
