Absolute cr*p!! Why play around with the rules anymore, no changes that have been made have been beneficial to the game. It was once the 'Beautiful Game' - unfortunately not any more!!

The most bobbins idea I have ever heard in my life. I understand that you would still get a point for a draw and it would be a bonus point for winning the penalty shoot out but what if the penalties get ridiculous and go to 30 penalties per team because they keep scoring and/or getting saved....
the idea should be shelved under crackpot and put alongside the Second Premier League and Celtic and Rangers joining the Premiership.

The answers you have had already say it all, the grass root football fans are sick to death of the faceless wonders tampering with a game they probably know nothing about.
The only thing remaining now is for the Yanks to get a bigger say in the way things are done in the game, when that day comes (and believe me it will) we might as well all go to the club for a game of dominoes. The beautiful game is dying with every club that sells it,s soul to the money grabbing foreigners. I am not a West Ham supporter but my heart bleeds to see a club with such great tradition, by which I don,t mean titles won, cups won, etc. I mean for brining youngsters through their system and serving up the kind of football all proper fans love, The bald guy with the huge ears has already said he took over to feed his love of money not his love of W.H.U. what a pity! who will be next? I,ve had some great times watching the game all over the country, and can only feel sorry for todays fans, of which I am still a regular season ticket holder but with what,s going on in the game today, cheating, under hand dealing I wonder how long the young fans of today will be prepared to keep shelling out the extortionate prices as more of the greedy money men want bigger and quicker returns.

This is a pretty bad idea. Small teams who have no chance of winning games will play for a draw and get a 50/50 odds of winning the game. It will take the energy, excitement, and pressure away from professional soccer. For those suggesting to test the rule somewhere: I don't even think it should be tested, that's how bad the decision is.

I don't like the idea at all.
Aye Rodderz13, I'm an american and unbelievably, I accept the concept of the draw. American football has draws. Can you not answer a simple strait forward question without somehow going off on some kind of ill founded racist rant. Idiot.

It is rubbish!
What is wrong with draws, look recently, some of the most exciting matches have been draws, Chelsea vs Spurs and Barca vs Real Madrid.
Lord Thingy, leave our football alone!

Rubbish - what they should do is give no points for a no-score draw to encourage more shooting. Penalty shoot out will encourage more rubbish teams to play for a draw.

Its a vile suggestion. Watching a bottom of the table side battle to a nil nil draw with a high flyer - and maybe staying up through it - is incredible brave and exciting - a penatly shootout would kill that!

I think that this is a stupid idea, if it wasn't for the draws there would be huge point gaps in the table, and there would never be any real fight to win the leauge or stay up. This idea really is a crock of ****.
