Are you on Cingular? It appears phones on cingular's network have this problem. I would move the phone further away from the speakers. I know when I have my phone on my desk, my computer speakers buzz if I have my cell phone too close.
(as for the person with the cordless phone with microwave interference.... you can't do anything for it, you need to buy a phone that is not in the 2.4ghz range. I know this first hand. I have a 2.4ghz digital spread spectrum phone and everytime I get close to the microwave oven when it is working the signal breaks up)

Actually, the phone is giving off radio waves at a high frequency. If the phone is to work, it will always do this. Shielding the phone does not work as the phone's transmitter thinks it is in a bad reception area and increases the power accordingly, so if anything the problem gets worse. I know it can be irritating in a car. Technically the phone is interfering with the amplification system, not the speakers themselves. Just move the phone away as far as possible from the radio/ amplifier/ hi-fi or whatever. The options are expensive - use a remote cell phone system, bluetooth connectivity etc, depending where you are. Best of luck with it - it is irritating.

Magnetically shielded speakers will not have as much as an issue with interference from other devices. The shielding is so that they do not do damage to the tubes in CRT monitors and television sets, but as more and more LCD and plasma is being used less and less speakers are being magnetically shielded.

When you find out, then let me know how you stop the interference/static from my cordless land phone when I'm in the kitchen and my microwave is on.
