week ago this past Sunday and she had blood work ordered for that day and 2 days later on Tuesday. Both days my blood work results came out wonderfully and I had been having the brown discharge for a week before that. She said that she was not concerned unless it turned bright red with cramps. I am just really scared because I do not have an appt. until March 27th which will be the first day of my ninth week. I don't feel that I have miscarried because I am still having a lot of preg symptoms (heartburn, nausea, gas, fatigue) but I just want to know if anyone else out there could tell me if they have experienced this and had a healthy pregnancy to ease my mind.

I also had the brown discharge for about 2 1/2 weeks. I didn't even know I was pregnant then and honestly it didn't even cross my mind that I might be! But anyways, after 2 1/2 weeks of what I thought was a "weird" period, I went to the doctor and found out I was pregnant. My dr. assured me it was very normal and it's just the bodies way of getting rid of old blood (that's why it is brown). She said the only time I should be worried is if it contained large clots, was bright red and was accompanied by cramps. I would say I passed the brown discharge for nearly 4 weeks (on and off) before it completely stopped. My daughter is now a smart, healthy 18 month old! I think what you are having sounds normal but if you really are worried, perhaps you should seek a 2nd opinion?! Good luck in your pregnancy!

With my first pregnancy I ended up having a brown discharge for a couple weeks it was very light inbetween my doctors appointments. Then a few hours before my next appointment the brown discharge got a little heavier so I put on a pantyliner, by the time I got to the doctors I was bleeding slightly not a lot and when I got into the exam room she checked me I was bleeding and 2cm dilated and I had a miscarriage right there on the exam table. I ended up getting pregnant again though 3 months later and am now 38 weeks along and having a perfectly healthy, normal and happy pregnancy and you will too. Also brownish discharge is a possible symptom of ectopic pregnancy so please get that checked out with an ultrasound, you need to request one from your doctor as soon as possible just to be safe and ease your mind plus they'll be able to tell if the progessing normally and that you will have normal pregnancy. If they say they dont want to give you one or that you dont need it I suggest finding a new doctor cause its always better to be safe then sorry during any pregnancy. I wish you luck and I'm sure everything will work out fine for you, Just don't stress cause it will only hurt you and the baby.

I had this same discharge with my last baby. Through out most of the pregnancy. Once at 18 weeks I had a hemorrhage. Bright Red blood, that just 'flowed'. My baby is now 2 1/2. Sometimes there is cause for concerns, but mostly it is unexplainable and usually nothing for concerns.

A miscarriage is..... crampy with bright red discharge and you will pass a "clot" that has alot of white in it.

I had some dark blood on my panties and my doc just asked, "have you had sex?" She said that sometimes when you have sex, if you don't lube enough you can tear or rub the wrong way and that will make you bleed.

I know its freaking scary. This is my first pregnacy (i am 24weks) and i am already freaking out about how much my body has changed. My little clothes are in the back of my dresser hiding. It's an amazing adventure!!

Worry never helped anyone. When you feel like your going crazy...sit back with some ice cream and a chick flick and thing will get better. :)

I had the same exact thing for a good 3 weeks on and off, around 7 weeks. They did an u/s twice and found nothing, said it was implantation bleeding at first and then I also had a little blood blister outside of the babys sac that was just breaking down. It doesnt harm anything you should be fine.

You poor thing. I know exaclly how you feel, but mine was miscarried. The brownish discharge is normal. Your body is getting use to the foreign object. Our bodies work as one big machine, and when something unfamilure comes about ,it reacts. Listen to your Dr. you will know if your having a miscarrage. You'll have fresh looking blood and pain you cant describe! Just dont do anything out of the ordinary. You should be fine.

Yes i expeianced it in my pregancies! You are OK!! Brown means old blood. Usually at impantation you will bleed ever so slightly. It is just your bodies way of getting rid of the excess old blood.
If you were miscarring, you would know. It would be bright red and you would feel like you were having a REAL bad period.
Don worry!! and congrats!!

3 weeks is kind of a long time, i would normally say this is implantation bleeding. but i agree with her unless it starts to increase in amount, an odor is emitted or the brightness increases you are probably ok. just make sure you pay extra special attention to your body right now. brown indicates that its old blood. good luck!

you should call and ask for an ultrasound so that you can see the baby is still there. If you are still concerned maybe you should go to the Emergency room, I just don't have full confidence in a midwife, Doctors are trained in high risk pregnancies, you could be carrying multiple babies twins will make you spot, or your pregnancy can be ectopic, please go get yourself checked out.

I had the same type of discharge when pregnant. My doctor said for the first tri. It is normal. It stopped later. I would not really worry if everything came back normal.... If they were worried about you they would call you in for an appt. sooner...
