She offered to help, sent me an e-mail, but wants me to send my driver's license number and social security number and other info....example, (a scanned copy of those things mentioned above) and that there is a fee!! I need to know if this person is on the up and up or if this is a scam!! I have heard about all these scams on the net and I personally don't want to fall victim!! I need someone who can vouche for this person!! Is there someone who can vouche for her??? Please....thank-you!!

Anybody who needs scanned copies of those things is scamming you. NOBODY should EVER request a copy of your social security card, especially over the internet. They might ask to SEE it (rare) but never for a copy. As for you DL#, that wouldn't serve ANY purpose but to steal your identity.

Don't do it. Anybody offering to give you money over the internet is usually just trying to steal whatever money YOU might have.

Sorry... =( It's sad what people will do, isn't it?

It is good you are being cautious. You should never, ever pay a processing fee, or collateral, or any other cash up-front for a loan. That is a scam. They prey on people desperate for cash and ruin their lives.

If you are getting a real loan, you will need to provide ID and SSN and so on. However, never do this over email -- do it in person. Jane Zick (which isn't her real name) is trying to take advantage of you -- don't talk to her any more.
