I accidentily clicked something on my desktop and it covered my desktop background with a white layer, so my entire desktop is white now. It's just annoying me, how can I fix it?

This may not work , Have you tried to interrupt your computer while it was loading, after POST ? If not, try this as you have nothing to loose.
push power On Switch, as your computer starts, Hold down Key F8, If this worked so far, The screen should be Black with White Lettering and Header should read:
" Windows Advance Options Menu "
Now, Use your Aero Key to move selection Up or Down,
I would try for " Last Known Good Configuration " or " Safe Mode"
The " Safe Mode " ( Still In Black Screan )should allow you to 'Eventially' get to the Desk Top Window,
Go to "Start" Key, Come up to 'Help & Support" button, Open it. Find ' Pick a Task '. and Find " Undo Changes to your computer with SYSTEM RESTORE " . Open that. Next screan should read " Welcom to System Restore ". If this has worked so far, On the Right Side of the screan, the TOP Button should say " Restore My Computer To A Earler Time "
Click (button ) NEXT, Next screan should read " Select a Restore Point ", If you have a 'Darkened Date' Before you had this problem, CLICK IT. The computer will ' Go Back ' to that date and " Attempt " to reset every thing to that date..

Your computer will 'Shut down and Restart " and will tell you if it was able to 'Restore " your computer to that date, If it was Unsucciful, Try a different date older than the one you tryed.

If this does work, any thing you 'Added or Changed' Should be Removed from your computer.

This comes from experience .
I have had to use " System Restore " ' MORE THAN ONCE '

Best of Luck.
