Because if he HAD done such things, and was willing to admit it, he'd have done so months ago when he was captured.
Typical american tactics; don't bother to worry about getting the REAL guys, just find some shlep and beat him till he "confesses" to whatever you want him to.

A coerced confession is worthless.
Undoubtedly, he did some of these things.
I hope they have confirming evidence because the confessions, under the circumstances, are not trustworthy.

He confessed to it PRIOR to getting swept away into private interrogations (and he probably wasn't beat, just made really uncomfortable {which is still inexcuseable} not really their level of torture)..they are just now releasing the confession because they have gotten all the information that they could out of him. SO please take a chill pill and realize that there ARE individuals out there that DO plan to harm you AND that while we may not ever get them all, we DO eventually catch some of them.

To more completely answer your question, I will need 1) evidence of torture and 2) some of the delicious Kool Aid you have been drinking.

To answer as phrased: Not enough.

I hope about 6 or 7 months of beatings, but even that is not enough.

You are making statements you do not and can not know the answer to. Have you thought of the time and horror of the people trapped in the twin towers who jumped to their death instead of being burned alive. DO NOT DARE TO DENIGRATE THE TIME THEY SPENT MAKING THAT DECISION.
