Are political parties good or not?

i want to know if you are for or aganist political parties and please state why.

Ultimately I am against them. At the end of the day they are natural though. As both social and political creatures we create groups that represent our needs and principles in order to increase our influence on society/govt/etc. Even in one-party states, there are factions within that party, in effect creating sub-political parties. In a perfect world people would vote on candidates on an issue-by-issue basis rather than partisan politics or rhetoric. Party politics would not be so bad if people voted like this, but nowadays it's just another team sport, where everything must be done to "beat" the other team no matter what they stand for.

as long as the politicians pick up the tab, I like a good party
just like anyone else -- wouldn't even mind some of the
Shannigans they pull. However, when it comes to running cities,
States, and the country, personally would prefer an individual
doing his/her own thing and when it comes time for election,
quoting what other ins or wannabes that individual might be
associted or aligned with.
