Our house is decently sized, so it seems the wireless signal is dying and is not strong enough. I've lived in a bigger house and had a LinkSys work pefectly from all around the house. We moved and I signed up for AT&T DSL. They send a 2Wire brand wireless router to install. How do I boost the signal so my roommates can get a signal from their rooms? They're using MacBook Pros...

I'm NOT running a LinkSys router anymore...wish I was : )

I'm using a 2Wire brand router that AT&T uses for their service. There are no antennas on it. it's just a box...

Well if the linksys was covering your house, just turn off the wireless in the 2Wire, plug the linksys into it and use the wireless off the linksys. Take any ouput port from the two wire and connect it to the WAN port of the LinkSys. Will work just fine, just be sure to turn off DHCP at the linksys which will then pass the IP addressing from the 2Wire to your wireless clients...

One way to boost signal strength without trying is to use linksys cards with linksys routers. Another option - there are devices you can buy commercially to increase signal strength. Most likely you can position the router differently with the effect of making signal stronger. There are websites that discuss AP positioning and antenna orientation issues. (Linksys.com comes to mind)

I actually have AT&T DSL and that i have wifi. basically purchase a router and hook it for your modem and consider wifi. right here's the router i'm making use of.
