I don't think there's one decision that's most important.
People try to make teenage years the most pivotal where you have to decide the rest of your life. Few of us have that ability, so why force it? Any decision can be changed later on, so it's not that important in the end, so why go through the stress?

The question really is more about what type of lifestyle do you want to live as an adult. From there all the other questions regarding specific colleges and career paths will fall into place.
The best thing you can do for yourself at this stage is ponder what type of adult life you want to have, and then look into careers that will support that type of lifestyle.

In every aspect in life, not just a career, the biggest decision teenagers have to make is whether to do the right thing or not. We are all blessed by God with the internal knowledge of right and wrong and the hardest thing to do is to do right when our bodies or our mind tells us to do wrong. "What feels good" "what we want now" are more often paths to wrong choices, doing what is right takes patience, kindness, faith in man kind and love of God.

Do, they want to go to college or work at McDonald's the rest of their life? I have seen many people who did not go to college, and have to work very hard for a decent living. I am great full that I had parents who wanted me to go to college. Attending two colleges and not being 25 yet is a good accomplishment for me.

What you are going to do after high school. Just know that after high school is over everything changes and the longer you try to hold on to your high school state of mind the farther you fall behind.
