Knowing what zone you are in is helpful. Local nurseries should be able to help. You probably need plants up to zone 5. You can order catalogs free off the internet from plant nurseries that have different type garden layouts for shade or sun plants. Start watching where you want to plant your garden to see how much sun it gets a day. Some easy plants are Gilardia, Yarrow, Iris,
Day Lilies, Hollyhocks, Poppies. I hope that this helps and have
fun.
