You’re just used to the ways of ur home state. For example, I’m from California and I moved to Colorado 8 months ago and so far, I haven’t made that much friends at all. People’s humor here is so different compared to California’s and when I ask them do you know what an in-n-out burger is, they’re like what? Being able to fit in is hard because there are times that you don’t want to, but if you want to make friends, you’re gonna have to.

most places if not 98% of the world I've thus traveled its very easy, however there are states that its indeginous peoples are so unique in the way they were raised that they stay to themselves thus making friendship with them difficult or impossible.
An example is where I bought a horse farm a second home in the hills of extreme N.E. Alabama I've tried every way I know they are set in a mold that is almost anti social.
