i turned 16 less than a month ago, and i have been going out with this dude for almost 4months now. i am not the sexual kind at all, but he really is and has been wanting it for a while. in a way i feel like i am ready, but then again i am very hesitant. One reason is that i have no idea what i am doing and it scares me.

i am also one of those people that are toooo nice and dont like to disappoint people or make them mad and so i HONESTLY really dont think i would be able to tell him im not ready if we are in the middle of something. i dont know what to do.

so i was just curious about the age that others have lost their virginity??

I lost my virginity at age 19. I felt very secure in the relationship-we got close several times before, but he was always very patient with me. We will celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary this fall.

If I can advise you of one thing in regards to losing your virginity, it is this....You can never get it back, once you lose it.

Think long and hard about your decision. I think you're awfully young to have to worry about this. 4 months is not a long time for a relationship, especially at age 16.

I'm in my early 30s and when I see kids these days, all over each other, especially high schoolers, I often think: how long is that going to last? High school has SO much drama. Soon, you will graduate, go to college, get a career.

Are you really mature enough to make such an important decision?

Seriously. I mean, no offense, but you're only 16 years old, you aren't out of high school, you have so much time in your life to find the real you.

Aren't you worth waiting for? The fact that he wants it so bad, well, if he's a keeper, then he'll wait until you're ready. Talk with him and tell him your concerns.

Don't let him be the reason you lose your virginity. Make sure you're the one who feels comfortable with it. It's your virginity, YOU decide when and who gets to "take it". He should respect your decision.

If you decide to go through with it, I wish you the best of luck. It's hard out there maintaining relationships. There's a lot of emotions involved in having sex. Please be smart and use proper protection, regardless of who you're with.

That is a really stupid question. Do you do things because others do it? If so, you are NOT READY FOR SEX.

Ok what kind of dude is he if he is going to get mad at you because you dont want to have sex yet. What a catch he is!!! And what is it about you that you value you yourself so little that you think its more important to please others than take care of your own needs?? Far as I am concerned, you are not ready for a bf let alone sex. But lord knows you wont listen so some words of wisdom.

SEX IS NOT SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENS!! You are going to let someone in your body cause you are afraid to say NO? STUPID, ITS YOUR BODY, THE ONLY ONE YOU HAVE. Ready or not this is something you need to discuss WITH YOUR BF.

It takes 2 to tango so you BOTH decide when its time to take that step and when you BOTH DECIDE ITS TIME, Then you both to go a family planning clinic and get tested for diseases and decide on a type of birth control. After you both come back clean and have decided on birth control, then and only then do you have sex.

Again SEX IS NOT SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENS. My suggestions may not seem sexy but neither is a sexually transmitted disease or an infant with a 16 year old single mother.

Seriously though, you are so not ready for sex and there is nothing wrong with that. Tell him you are not ready for it, at a time when you are NOT making out or whatever and stay out of situations where it might happen.

Too early.
Why don't you wait to lose your's. Virginity is only an one-time deal and is very precious! You should wait until you are absolutely ready. If you miss the opportunity this time, so what, there's always next time and most often it's better. Just remember, you can't reverse it. Hold on to it.

I was 14. it was with this guy that i had liked a lot for about 6 months...it hurt like a mother!!!!!!!! but then it felt really good. i mean, inexplicably good. after that, i went back to my friends house and had sex with her older brother. So please, do not do what i did and have two people in one night....if you dont want to do it, just let the fear get the best of you and make that be enough to say 'NO'

I was 16 and like you not sure if I should do it or wait. My BF at the time was really pressuring me and all my friends had already done it so I figured what the hell. I regret it and now wish I had waited until it was with someone special that I truly loved.

I lost mine at age 15, but I used protective sex. If you feel uncomfortable with it and your doing just to make him happy then you shouldn't do it. You should do it when you feel completely comfortable and you feel you can REALLY trust him. And if he pressures you in any way you need to leave him fast because he is creating an unsafe environment for you; and he is showing he just wants to get in your pants, which can become dangerous. Please if you go forward with it use PROTECTION; if you get pregnant your life will change forever, keep that in mind.

I was 18. And if you really don't feel ready, don't do it. You should not be having sex just because you don't want to disappoint someone. If he really loved you, he would wait until you are really ready.
