Every week I have to unplug my rogers moterolla cable modem and reset it. I have to do this because after I boot my computer and launch the explorere 6 browser, it suddenly can't find the DNS server (despite working the days/hours before hand). I have this setup, cable modem, linksys wireless, toshiba laptop wireless.

Call your cable company and have them come to your house and test your signal. I had that problem and it took about four service techs to fix the problem. There was to much of a drop on my cable signal, once I got a dedicated line ran to my modem the problem was solved.
If the cable hooked up to your modem runs through a splitter that could cause problems with your signal, or you may have a loose connection somewhere along the line. Either way a service tech should be able to remedy it free of charge.

I am assuming that you have tried running a "repair" from your PC before rebooting the modem? With wireless, it is usually a case where it did not connect to the wireless network on boot up. The network was slow answering and so it skip the connection.

To "repair" you right click on the wirless icon near the clock and select "repair". This clear all settings and reconnects to the network. I have to do it a couple times a week.

verify that the potential cable and coax cable connection to the router are good. you may even try unplugging your cable modem for extra or less 3 minutes and then plugging it returned in to purpose to reset it. verify that your RJ45 Ethernet cable is connected properly and that the cable isn't broken -- try changing the cable to be certain if the difficulty maintains. If none of this fixes the problem, then call your cable employer to *****. good success, Annorax64
