i have some small toys and i want to make them in to necklaces. To do so i need to make a hole in the plastic. what should i use to do that? I have a hammer, nails, screwdriver and basiclly the usual things you find in a tool box!

Use pliers to hold a small nail, use a potholder to hold the pliers. Heat the nail until it glows hot, then use it to pierce the plastic. A wooden handled ice pick or awl would work better though, if you have one or can get one easily.

Although you can use nails to make the holes, I use a thicker needle. They're bigger than your average sewing needle but create a smaller hole in the plastic.

What I do is take the needle in a pair of pliers, heat it, and poke it through the plastic toy. You do have to be careful, though. Some toys are not made of weaker plastic so it might be easier to drill through them with a dremmel if you have one.

Your best bet is to use a very very thin drill bit with an electric drill/screwdriver. And work slowly so that you don't make the hole to big or mess it up.

USE A 16 INCH DRILL BIT.
