I would highly recommend that you connect your local Area Agency on Aging. These groups listen to and work with seniors and their caregivers every day. The focus of their work is to solve problems so that older Americans--and caregivers of older Americans --can live with maximum dignity and with maximum independence. These groups also work closely with family caregivers of your older friends and neighbors. They would likely be interested in your project and, depending on the goals of your project, may be able to direct you to groups or individuals who would be willing to talk with you and help you get information out to seniors who may benefit from your project.

Staff there may also be willing to give you ideas on how to make your project even more beneficial for the senior group you are seeking to serve.

It is highly unlikely that an Area Agency on Aging or a Senior Center would give you a mailing list of seniors. As others who have responded have said, seniors are often victims of frauds and scams. The results are devestating to many good-hearted people. While your project may be a very worthy one, the fact is that if the organization were to give you this list, others who are behind unscrupulous and selfish "missions" will demand this information also. The credibility of the organization serving seniors is too important to jeopardize. The policies of all senior citizen organizations I am familiar with do not allow sharing of seniors' mailing or contact information unless it is a very unusual circumstance.

You can connect with your local Area Agency on Aging by calling 1-800-677-1116--they will give you the contact number of your Area Agency on Aging. When you call your local Area Agency on Aging, ask for the person who handles the Family Caregiver Program or the person who handles "Information and Assistance."

I hope this is helpful somehow. Best wishes on your project!

That would be rather ill advised as most do NOT like strangers appearing at our doors.
If you have a legitimate project , approach the senior center and offer to help with something where there is public supervision .
You may mean well, but there are too many thieves that prey on older people so they prefer to meet new people in a safe environment.

What you do is go the senior center and set up a booth, with permission, to spread your message. IF they are impressed with your goals, they might give you a mailing list or give you a chance to include something in one of their mailings.

I hope you're not that guy that likes to beat them and steal their money.
