With a band like Motley Crue, they have earned there keep to be a notable at least on a ballot. R.E.M, Van Halen (even after Eddie checked himself back into rehab right before the induction), c'mon now...there is no ryhme or reason that the Crue doesn't at least deserve a notable mention!!!

Ok, if it was a 25 year thing, they have been around since 1981, well beyond the call of a nod. R.E.M., their music has been great, and they have been around since the late 70's (or are you to young to remember their garage days in good ol' Athens,GA). The only thing I think that they have inspired is for anyone who is gay to come out of the closet (not that there is anything wrong with that) and they have done close work with charitites. So, I can see them getting inducted, but not this early.

You are forgetting (again if you are to young to even remember) Motley Crue had set the ways for a lot of no ones, to get the confidence and try to make a new persona and make money. Even though they have done so many drugs, that Sixx should really be dead, they are alive and they have faced many personal conflicts in their lives.

Having such a publicized career, their lives were led through their fans. We always knew who was doing who and what they put into their bodies when. They faced personality conflicts with their band mates. They were honest, straightforward men, who just told ya like it was. If they hated you, you would know it. Isn't that better than going around life thinking that everyone loves you? Vince was faced with jail time for killing one of his friends in a drunken stupor in a car accident. He also lost his daughter when she was 5 to cancer. Can people not learn from him, how to cope with something as personal as that.

Tommy is a man, who just has not grown up yet and refuses too. Having his two children, I think makes him realize that their is other life that is MORE important than his. When he doesn't have his children he is free to be who he is. But when it comes down to it all, his children will always come first. Plus, having a baby's friggin arm for a d i ck, doesn't hurt matters with the ladies.

Then there is the one that no one talks about...ya know the one I mean. The one with the bone disease and who is slowly dying in front of all of us. Someone should give that man an award. He never moves on stage (much) and is always battling his illness. But we as society are to much focused on what can that person do, and how many ants can we make that person snort, and wow, he slept with her. Mick Mars, is a key component in this group. Remember that name, Mick Mars.

This is why they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame....especially over GrandMaster Flash. You don't have to like the music, because the Hall don't care if you like the music or not. They don't call every friggin' individual in the world and say "Hey, do ya like this band?" No one gives a **** if ya do or don't. But with the conflicts they have encountered, and look back in the day, they have and still will pave the way for young musicians. Home Sweet Home is a song that most musicians learn first on bass or guitar or even piano.

They are icons even though some of you chose not to accept that. R.E.M was good (I liked them) but I don't feel that they are deserving of the Hall yet. Van Haggar--debatable, GrandMaster Flash, NO F U CKING WAY....

Back in the 80's, all of the chicks wanted Vince or Tommy, and all of the guys wanted to be Vince or Tommy. They are part of our lives whether we choose to accept that or not. After all, aren't we all a little Motley??

One of the requirements is that your band has to be done playing. Motley Crue was still on tour in 2014. They won't be eligible I think for a few years after their official retire date. Also it has to be 20 years from your first hit record. trust me if guns and roses got in Motley Crue will get in

Because there are stipulations to being inducted. For one, you cant be eligible for induction until 25 years after your first hit record. That would not even make Motley Crue eligible yet.

Why is Grandmaster Flash and the furious five in the Rock n Roll hall of fame? I like Grandmaster, but hes not rock n roll. It did the rock n roll hall a fame a grave disservice. Maybe Tupac is next.......oh wait, dont forget Garth Brooks.......oh wait......what about Kermit the frog(its not easy being green).......Its all F^c%ed up.
