Fiscal conservatives? Bush has the country buried under debt.
Family values? Most of the 2008 contenders are adulterous divorcees and Cheney has a pregnant lesbian daughter.
Clean, honest government? That's a funny one w Libby going down and now Gonzales and who knows who else.
The shoes on the other foot so how do you all justify your phony, hate filled propoaganda now??????

All the right-wingers I know, including myself, have long since abandoned the Republican Party because all of your criticisms are absolutely true. In fact, I think you were holding back, I could add a lot to your list.
The true right-wingers I know are now Independents.

Vote for the person, not the party.

First of all Bush is not a fiscal conservative it is the liberal press that has given him the title Conservative, not the conservatives. At best he is a moderate. A conservative would never pass the largest new welfare program in years (Prescription drug)

Next , The contenders for the 08' bid are light on the conservative side. Newt is the only one that I would consider conservative and he has not declared yet.

Next, What does Cheney's daughter have to do with anything? She is not running for office (for that matter neither is her father)

Libby was convicted of a process crime (still wrong if there was intent) which is nothing compared to William Jefferson (D-LA) who was caught on video by the FBI accepting a $100,00 bribe or John Murtha (D-PA) who was involved with Abscam taking bribes from foreign countries

Gonzalez fired 8 US attorneys compared to Clinton firing all 93 of them (one of which was investigating Whitewater and was replaced by a friend of Bill Clinton)

As for the party falling apart, we are less divided than the Democrats, Nancy Pelosi is Getting protested by Liberals for god's sake.

What use to be political party that stood for respect for America has become the party of the "religious right." I left the Republican Party in 1980 when Reagan and the prophets of the GOP: Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, James Dobson and others became the spokesman for the GOP.

It is really too bad. Good hard working people who happen to call themselves Republicans are going to suffer a landslide defeat for their party because of Bush and the neocons. All the things you point out and more have got voter attention.

The Republican party has had scoundrels running it before and they recovered nicely. They will agin.

For example Benjamin Harrison and his administration were all a bunch of scoundrels. They lied and cheated where they could to beat Grover Cleveland in his bid for a second term. Once in office and people saw what Harrison and co. were all about Cleveland regained the Presidency. So that made Grover Cleveland the 22nd and 24th President.

Well im a conservative, but im not a member of the republican party. So if something deserved was done then reap what you sow i guess.

But if your gloating somehow makes you believe any kind of allusion that the democratic party is clean honest government your sadly mistaken.
