I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE, but don't you think Dominican people are basically black? I mean, I know that they have a BIT of other ancestry, besides black, but every dominican person I've seen just looks black. Based on skin color, hair, eyes, skin (not color, but texture). I LOVE culture in general, but I honestly think Dominicans are basically just black people with a VERY small european ancestry. Some Dominicans just can not face the fact that they're dominantly black. Like, some are even racist towards africans, when they themselves are basically the same thing. What do you think about the Dominican ethnicity? and why are some hostile towards Puerto Ricans? Maybe they're jealous, since Puerto Ricans are dominantly European. lol. and to reiterate, I AM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE, I AM JUST HONEST. Please answer with respect, and like an educated person. Thank You

To the last answer: NO, everybody does not come from Africa. If that were true, I do not see how a Norther European person has African blood at all. and, what I meant by saying that maybe they're jealous of puerto ricans because of their dominantly European ancestry, is that many dominicans think that if you have some type of WHITE/EUROPEAN ancestry in you, than you must think that your superior in some way. You don't even have to think that, they just think you are like that. and is it true that their are dark Puerto Ricans, but compared to the amount of Dark dominicans...there is a vast difference, dominicans without a doubt having the most African blood in the Latino/Hispanic race.

"Maybe they're jealous, since Puerto Ricans are dominantly European." - I don't exactly see what they have to be jealous about. I mean no offense to Europeans but you are making it seem like they are in some kind of superior level and everybodys the same.

Black isn't a race, it's a color like white. I know many white hispanic people like I know many black hispanic people. I don't exactly know who you are reffering to but all I can say is that maybe because they are from the Dominican Republic, they have a different language, a different culture with different customs. It doesn't matter if two groups of people look the same, it's the culture that matters. I have blonde hair and blue eyes with very fair skin, that doesn't mean I should be called Caucasian if I'm not. In that case, Mexicans would be everything else since we're mestizos [mixed]. Puerto Ricans are mixed too and there are many dark complected ones as there are light complected ones. And about their heritage, doesn't everybody come from Africa?? Well hopefully I helped out on your question =)

i WORK WITH A GUY FROM THE Dominican he looks black and he is black he tryed to explain it to me this way . Haiti enslaved the Island people and a lot of the Dominicans are still upset about that so they don,t clime to be black because of what the Haiti people did to them I don,t know if this is true but that is what he told me. I think it is hard to be black this is why when you see a person asked what are you they will name every race in the book be for they say black look at Tiger Woods he named about 12 races be for he said he was black the very thing that makes him great and he has all thee money he will ever need. Did you see the Super Bowl the two black coaches down played there part about being the first black coaches in the Super Bowl because they know that white America hates giving blacks credit for anything all black people know this I,m going to leave you all with this .They don,t hate us for our darkness they hate us for our light.

I personally think they are black people who speak Spanish. I don't know why they don't want to admit they are black, there is nothing wrong it.
