AP Deli - the only place I get my corned beef sandwiches from. I've tried other places & they don't compete.
Here's a link with there locations http://www.apdeli.com/ourlocations.asp
The sandwiches are loaded with meat; half is usually enough!

Yes I agree...it is called Corned Beef. And I would ask where in Chicago are you? North or South side????? I would say that every Irish Restaurant will be having it. Some good north side places - The Abbey Pub, Chief O'Neils, Fado downtown. If you want to MAKE it, every store sells it. Best way is to boil it and then bake it (after putting mustard and spices/brown sugar on top). Lost of places probably sell it already cooked too. Good luck and enjoy! Also, my favorite place is in Downers Grove, west of the city. Ballydoyle Pub on Main Street - I was there last week and a friend ordered Corned Beef dinner - it was a huge piece and he said it was terrific.

OK I am nit picking - the food is called corned beef. This is a pet peeve of mine, sorry.

There are two places to go: Kaufman's deli on Dempster in Skokie and Manny's on Roosevelt? near UIC.

There is a local chain of restaurants by the name of Hackney's which serves a good corned beef and cabbage but go to one of the above delis.

Perry's at 180 N. Franklin in Chicago. The deli sandwiches are stacked high with meat (enough for two people) and the service is fast. Always a waiting line at lunch time.
