because of ignorant people that really hate themselves but do what is called displaced aggression, which is taking their hatred out on others.....misery loves company

Because the races have distinguishing characteristics. Some stereotypes have basis in fact. Racism will end when members of a particular race don't distinguish themselves in any way.
Consider:
White collar crime is committed by -
The prison population is disproportionately -
The best students in school are -
The best athletes are -
The rich old men are all -
If you named a particular ethnic group for each of those questions, then racism is still alive and well.

Racism was an excuse 500 years ago to make people feel better about enslaving africans. This lie was perpetuated for several hundred years afterwards to justify the continued slave trade. After hundreds of years of ingrained racism its hard to get rid of. When there are still people raised being taught racism by their parents it is especially hard to eradicate...

you mean in the states - here in canada we aren't racist.
I suspect the states has such a racism problem because of the poor education system
