I would never pick up a hitchhiker but then again right now I don't even own a car so I don't have anything to pick him up with.

I've done it on rare occasions, but I've got the legal right to carry something that would discourage most hitch hikers from turning into carjackers.
I don't recommend doing it for regular citizens though, it's a cruel world at times.

I have, but I live in the middle of nowhere and his car was broke down about 200 feet back.
Wasn't the smartest thing I've done.
If I think I can take him.ROTFL

I do sometimes,they're usually from around here. One time I picked up a drunk guy on his way into town and he took me to the bar and got me loaded

Only if it was a lady and her little baby or something and I had nothing of value in the car with me..
