There are many American women living in India for various purposes like work, research,tourism and also for learning Yoga and other Indian cultural traditions. On a rough estimate atleast 1000 of them live here at any given point of time. It is common to see Western employess in Multi-National companies (both from Europe and America). Globalization has brought about lot of spatial movements from and to from many countries. One would not be surprised to find more western men and women opting to work in India , as the trend has already begun. It is always good for people of one country to work in another, for cultural and social reasons as it gives a broader outlook of life and the world.

There most definitely are. Last summer I lived in India for several months with an internship exchange program, and there were a few other American women on the program as well (though most were from Western Europe). Also, I know of a couple who live in Delhi as part of the United States foreign diplomatic mission. I've met American women all over the country who are staying there for extended periods of time...a year or more. However, the most non-Indian women in India are Israelis.
