It is very, very easy to track or hack someone through a p2p network like limewire or bearshare. Dont do anything evil with them.

Every computer on the internet has an IP address. To put it in comparision, it is like your telephone number. The authorities can track your ip address, just like a telephone number. Go to yahoo search, or google search, and write "my ip address" in the search box, and it will tell you what your ip address is. I do not know a way around it, but maybe someone else does. As soon as you connect to the site to download a file you create a record with your IP address the only way to change that is find a way to mask that before you download but even then with investigation you can be found out. There is no full proof way to steal anything on the internet
