I see all these mock drafts and lists of QBs but NONE of them have Jared Zabransky even in the top 5 QBS in the draft and this is a weak quarterback class... Zabransky won more games as a starter than anyone else in this draft and he is a great athlete. A lot faster than people think, pretty accurate, and he has a fairly good arm. BUT what makes him invaluable is his intangibles, his leadership... Is he even going to be drafted because if he is I think he'll be the next Tom Brady, if he isnt, then all 32 teams missed out on a couple super bowl rings I think... AND I'm an Oklahoma Sooners fan, too bad he's a good enough QB to light our D up and not even be considered as a draftee...

As a Boise State fan, I can tell you why Z isn't rated higher. His decision making process is horrible. If not for the hook-and-lateral play, he would be the guy who lost the Fiesta Bowl with a last minute INT. He is also pretty cocky.
That said, he is a strong leader, can scramble, and has a good arm. Quite frankly, in the NCAA, his type are a dime a dozen. They rarely succeed in the NFL
He will get a chance, but I don't see him being drafted until the 5th round at least.
I hope I'm wrong.

Tommy Frazier led a Nebraska team to a 12-0 record and a national championship and he didnt get drafted...college numbers dont mean crap and they dont translate to nfl numbers. So even the best QB on the best team in college football doesnt always get drafted....and Zabranski basically torched a bunch of D 1AA teams with oklahoma being the acception. With that said, Zabranksi will never see any real time in an NFL game, but im sure the arena league is looking for QB's to just lob the ball in the air.

He played in the WAC. He didn't see the type of defensive talent game in and game out that guys from the SEC, Big 10, etc. saw. That being said I think he could be a good NFL QB. Somebody already mentioned that his decision making is bad and I agree with that. He isn't going to be somebody who could go to the NFL and start right away. The best case scenario for him is to be a backup to a good veteran QB, ride the pine for a couple years and soak up as much knowledge as he can before he takes a snap in an NFL game. The QBs that are going to be the top[ ones in the draft are guys that can come in and play right away.

I agree that Zabransky is a "good" college QB with some talent who won alot of games from a college with an easy schedule (Undebatable Fact).

He's good but has many problems (see below). No way you can put him in the top 5 QBs, you're an obviously a good fan but team aside he doesn't have what some other players do have.

Players in front of him: (IMO) JaMarcus, Quinn, Stanton, Kolb, Edwards, Beck, Smith, Leak, just to name a few

Position Ranks
NFLDraftScout.com: 9
ESPN: 12
My Personal List: 11

Strengths:
He's highly mobile, accurate, and leader on his team. He did a good job of checking off his receivers showing awareness.

Weaknesses:
However he is light, only 204 lbs, even Brady Quinn is 225. He's only 6'1" which is alittle short but ok. He doesn't have upper echelon arm strength. He also puts too much air under the ball. He throws off his backfoot when he scrambles. He holds on to the ball too long and takes too many hits. This is bad, because at his size in the nfl he could seriously be injured.

You know how it goes. The big schools(USC, Notre Dame, etc etc) are only lookd at in the first rounds. I believe Brady was drafted round 3! Well I HAT the Sooners (Oregon Fan) but respect you and your opinion and I hope that I helped. P.S. Zabransky is a good QB with not alotta got recievers!

hes not a high pick because he only has one big game under his belt...and that was against a HIGHLY over rated OK team that had no business being in that bowl...he played no bodies for 4 years...why would a team gamble millions on a player like that???? the next tom bracy????? thats a stretch...

i think of it probably won't count in step with hazard in Idaho this is going to help the sales somewhat yet different than that no. i think of Zabranksy and Boise State deserve that disguise for that impressive victory. with a bit of luck somebody will provide Zabransky a shot interior the NFL as a backup or something.
