It's called relaxing. There is nothing wrong with it. I used to be a workaholic and had to be on the go all the time. I only ate and slept because I had to. I was wrong to be that way. I learned how to relax and recharge my batteries and I'm a better person for it. I play sports when I can, but find nothing wrong with just listening to music, watch a movie, or reading a book. Or being on YA. heh heh.

I suppose that you are unemployed, because if not, you will appreciate the meaning of what so called "Weekend",You may be right about people will do nothing ,but having the HOPE to do something new Comparing to what they been doing the whole week working or studying is little bit worth the happiness and the joy,So it will increase the glare of ones eyes, DON'T YOU ?.
So the most important here is the hope and faith that will break the Routine they been doing the last 5 days, that a new thing will happen in those 2 days .

Believe it or not some people are just happy doing nothing. You go to work everyday and some OD on people, the public in your face all day long can do that to you. So when the week-end comes it is a chance to escape all that humanity and spend some quality time alone.

I think more accurately they actually mean that they are RELIEVED that its the weekend and work is over for 2 days.
Being a couch potato is just one of the choices you can afford to make when you have the luxury of this freedom.

That's the point of a weekend. It's about choice. You have to get up all week and go to work. On the weekend you can do nothing or choose to do something.

Personally, I enjoy hiking on the weekends during the summer, and in the winter all I want to do is lay in bed and nap!
It's not really about doing or not doing anything, it's all about having the option to do what you choose.

Happy I have the freedom to do nothing . Work does not allow that option. Being able to do nothing is the best. No schedule to adhere to, no people to deal with. Pajamas, naps who could ask for more?

Maybe because for the first time all week, they have an opportnity to do absolutely nothing. Nothing can sometimes look really appealing when 'something' has been happening all week long.
