On days when a big storm is brewing, just before it begins to rain- the pressure is low and the humidity is high, I feel so relaxed and just plain happy. It's so noticeable that I've often thought of moving to a place where those conditions occur more often. What exactly is making me feel better- the air pressure? the humidity?

When there is a huge thunderstorm on its way there is alot of that low air pressure you are talking about. It is said to be very cleansing to sit in that type of weather because it is good for your body. Although it is dangerous the most clensing time to be out is durring the actual thunder storm. Nostradomus used to believe that his mind, body and soul was wiped clean of negative energies durring a thunderstorm and would stand out in it until the storm passed. This being said, you are not the only one that notices that this is happens in fact it is a very old belief. Alot of people today do not take the time to enjoy the enviroment around them much less even take notice. If you are one who does enjoy all the beauty that surrounds us you are more suseptable to feel the weather and how it affects your body. Im not entirely sure that I have answered your questions completely because to my knoledge I do not know any proven medical or scientific reason behind these things but it is not uncommon. If you are interested in moving somewhere where this is an every day occurance you should consider moving to a tropical island. On the islands there are storms that come and are gone in about ten min. but it happens every day on the islands sometimes several times a day. In their enviroment it is very important because it keeps the island itself cooler, and more inhabitable. This may be expensive but this is where you are going to find this kind of energy on a daily basis.

I've heard that both water falls and lightening produce 'negative ions', or negatively charged oxygen molecules, which make people happy.
