Probably not. If the "fingers" on the outside of the basket do not have deep gouges or grooves inbetween them, and the plates will be able to slide smoothly, then you dont' need to replace it. There is an actual service measurement of how deep the grooves can be.

The basket will probably be fine.
When you remove the clutch plates, look at the outer clutch basket where the fingers of the clutch fit in. If you see any major indents, the basket may need replacing. Some tiny indents are acceptable. The most you'll get is maybe a little clutch chatter (noise). Don't worry about it.

Look at the fingers on the basket. If they are all chewed up and notched by the plates it would be best to fit a new one. Though they tend to be quite expensive so some people file the notches down slighty so the fingers are smooth again. This usually works fine though it can make the clutch a bit noisier.

also make sure the gear is firmly attached to the basket and not wiggling around
