i have some movies on a dvd, the computer will recognize it but the dvd player won't how come.

you have to have a dvd-burner like nero or roxio and the format has to be MPEG, or MPG

Generally speaking they have to be in .wmv or mpeg format.

If you don't have Nero, get 'Burnon CD & DVD' (free) from Burnworld.com. It is very simple to do and they have a wizard that shows you how... and I don't mean the gay kind like Harry Potter.

because all dvd players are no made equal
wen you go to buy another one ask the guy to sell ya one that plays either PC dvds or store bought ones as well as picture albums and cds

first off you need to know if you computer has a DVD burner next you need a software to burn that CD power DVD is a good software

use VSO covert to convertxtodvd . i used it and its great .

the first step is determining what movie format the movie is originaly in . the convert and burn . i think VSO does that because i just did it the other day .
