Sharks are meant for sea water
but some times some of them, especially bull sharks, by mistake do swim upstream up to fresh water
Apart from the above, you do have small types of sharks called river sharks

Very few Sharks live in fresh water.
There are only 6 species
Ganges shark, Speartooth shark, Irrawaddy River shark, Bizant river shark, Borneo river shark, New Guinea river shark.
There is also one marine shark that can live in fresh water and it is the famous (or infamous) bull shark.
(Actuallt bull shark has a tolerance for fresh water that is unique among marine sharks, and can travel far up rivers, posing a threat to those who venture into the water)
So in total you have 7 species that can live in fresh water.
From all the above only bull shark is nown to attack humans.
