The Sahara covers a huge area, about 10.5 million square kilometres and extends right across northern Africa from Morocco and Algeria in the west to Egypt and Sudan in the east.

It has different climates including subtropical in the north and tropical in the south. Some places such as Timboctou (Mali) have a very high annual rainfall whereas others such as Sebha (Libya) have very little rainfall. There are some places that can go without rain for several years.

I can't say for certain but the chances are that it's rained somewhere in the Sahara within the last day. March is generally a dry month but in parts of Egypt it's the wettest month of the year.
