GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL and see a different doctor (if possible, or see your doctor again and demand a real answer). Leaking fluid and blood is definitely NOT NORMAL - it's a normal sign of going into labor, losing the plug or having placenta previa.
It's my understanding that dilation typically happens further along once you're in actual labor. Effacement can happen anytime, but usually starts earlier for normal pregnancies. That said, sometimes neither of those things happen (thus the c-section) - so my advice is to NOT USE effacement and dilation as reliable indicators of whether you're in labor or predictors as to your body being "ready" to have the child.

You need to contact the Labor & Delivery Dept at the hospital you are suppose to be delivering at . They will then instruct you on what to do , they may have you come in and monitor you or they may tell you to see your OB physician.
I think you may be losing your mucus plug, you dont always lose it all at once. it can come out little by little . Also , I think your water bag is leaking . Your only 50% efaced , meaning your cervix is only half of the way thinned out . It needs to 100% efaced in order for you to deliver. If I were you , I would not worry so much. The baby will come when your body is ready not anytime before. You just need to lay down and rest , stay off your feet and dont worry.
You should call your doctor if your having the following symptoms:
Heaviness in your pelvic region
If your water fully breaks
If your having pain
If you are constipated
If your have more than a couple of drops of blood coming out.
If you feel light headed or dizziness ( you may be dehydrated)
If you start having contractions that are 10 minutes or less apart and last 1 or more minutes.
Congrats on the baby ! Good Luck !

If you start feeling contractions even if they are 5 minutes apart you should have the doctor check you again. You might of lost your plug but if you are still leaking - like lets say you are standing and all of a sudden you feel something running down your legs or even wet your panties - that means you are loosing water from the bag. He should trust you and check you again. I had the same problem which I knew my water broke and my doctor kept saying that it was my mucus plug but when I went in the following week to get induce the water bag was gone. He had this look of 'oh you lost your water bag" I was like " I told you so" Sometimes you need to push the issue with these doctors. My baby came out all dry because the doctor decided that we should wait another week. If you ask they should check. Good luck and have a wonderful delivery!!!!!!

I'm not sure if bloody show can happen before you lose your mucus plug...but maybe that's what's happening... Does your doctor know you're leaking blood and fluids? Is the blood bright red? Or is it heavy (more then 2 tablespoons)? If so then you need to call your doctor because it could be a sign of placenta previa or placenta abruption. If it's not bright red or heavy, then labor is near! Good luck!
Go to the website..it tells you more about bloody show and what to look out for:

I feel like the doctor missed something, too. it is possible for your water to come out slowly, like over a day as you have had. It doesn't have to be a rush all at once. And my water had blood in it so it was pink. I think you should go back in. Good luck!

I would go back in. You can leak and still have your plug. You can go into labor without dialating. Blood and fluid dont come from no where, maybe when he checked you still had your plug, but now its gone... Go back in please, dont take a bath either, or have sex, it may be your water. Good luck and hopefully you come home with a baby!

bleeding is normal. you should be going into labor really soon. I bet between the next few days your water will break, and you'll be back at the hospital within a week at most. best of luck.

Go to the ER, it sounds like you could be in early labor. At any rate you need a doctor to check you out. Good luck!
