Dragon Ball finishes with Goku winning the martials arts tournament.
Dragon Ball Z starts with the arrival of Goku's brother and finishes with Goku leaving for training with Oob the reincarnation of Boo.
Dragon Ball GT was not created by Akira Toriyama. So it explains why it is so bad.
