C'mon people, it's a sincere question. I want to know what goes on in the minds of pinoys who would rather not be pinoy and be a wigger, er I mean, a caucasian.

I am not an Oreo.
I guess being an "Oreo" is psychological state some Filipinos go through.
The Philippines has been developed to provide a market for everything American. The Filipinos were precisely educated to become believers that everything American is beautiful, everything American is the best. It is this belief that made a lot of Filipinos dream of working and living in the US. SOME of those who realized their dream were convinced that it is true.
It is mostly from this group that you'll find the Oreos. They think that their being there in the US make them a cut better than their countrymen left in the Philippines. At times they even think more american than the Americans in denigrating their country and their people. And those who take caucasians for partners produce Fil-Am children who in turn believe themselves to be more superior or intelligent just because they were educated in the US.
Actually, we should pity those who believe like this, because they belong neither here nor there.
You will find only a few Oreos from among those who landed in other western countries.

Thanks Rabbityama for the meaning coz I've been wondering what it really means since yesterday. Come on, people!
Quit using that OREO & banana or whatever words you got back there in Y/A Phil. Category.
It's kinda not pleasant to hear anymore.
Filipinos are not OREOS for Heaven's sake!
Let's talk about the real cookies & fruits instead at Y/A Foods & Drinks Category.
See you all back there! LOL! (--,)
BTW, I'm not an Oreo but a lush fruit on top of an ice cream. That's more yummy! LOL! (--,)

Oreo?! that is a harsh term.. just an information for you -- the color of our skin is "kayumanggi" (brown or tan as you may call it) not black, not white, not yellow, not red..
I am a Filipino! Proud and thankful to be one!
I never once in my life thought of being caucasian, not even in my nightmares..
btw, arienne321, we are not educated that way.. Filipinos who work abroad doesnt mean that they love to be there and never want to go back to their beloved country..

When you say "oreo", are referring to people who are black on the outside, but white on the inside (meaning: they are of African ancestry, but they act "white")? If so, then I think this question is misplaced. Filipinos are not African. They are Asian, and the terms people use to refer to Asians who act white are: banana OR twinkie (yellow on the outside, white on the inside).
That is the only definition I know for "Oreo" in reference to people.
I am not an "oreo"...

I definitely hate most (if not all) Pinoy soap operas and Asian telenovelas. I think they are cheesy, predictable, repetitive, dated and the characters are just plain stupid and illogical. Does that make me an Oreo? But I do watch da buzz and wowowee for all its worth lol.
