I know people change. To the core your either good or bad.
When we grow we do change. With each day that passes I change just a bit and the goal is always, for the better. Change does not happen over night ... it's a process, but it can be done. The answer JC is : yes.

I believe people can change if they are introduced to drugs. I've been sober from Meth and Alcohol for 16 months. I was a completly different person then. I believe that it was eating at my core! I had a complete turn around from my former self, and I am who I am today because of my experience.

Are far as defining who or what we are, I don't believe that I have grasped that yet. Some people can but are they really being completly honest with themselves? The world may never know.

People can change. The question is how badly do people want to change. Sometimes people have lived a certain way for so long. They may wish to change, but the desire is nothing compared to the comfort they feel in their old habits. There are certain things that will always remain the same such as memories. You can redefine what you are if you truly want to. Your desire must be gargantuan, more important than anything else.

I think the core of a person stays basically the same. We all have the capability of being good or bad...how we are defined depends on the path we choose...it imprints on us and the core is molded by those choices. Reinventing or changind would seem to mean going back to the beginning and starting all anew. I'm not sure that could happen.

This is a difficult question. For myself, I can only change my choices and reactions to anything. In that way, I do change myself in some nebulous way, but I do think that way down deep there is a core being that remains the same. That unique center that makes us all so individual.

Thanks for asking & I hope that made sense.

I guess it would depend on the type of changes you're talking about. I don't think people can really change their personalities completely, but I do believe that we can learn to control some of the things that we feel. Some people may not be able to stop being angry but they can learn to control their anger. A over weight person may not stop wanting to eat all of the time but they can control what they eat and how much.

There are some things which you can change by making a conscious decision to change your life. However, you will always have your life experiences and values. I have changed a lot of things about myself within the past year, but I am still the same person in my heart.

People can and do change. Significant change ussually is the outcome of a catastrophicevent, crisis, or perceived crisis. Change is generally gradual, otherwise.
Your core beliefs can change, but this is harder to accomplish. The person must be open to the removal of the filters we put up to protect our core values. Removal of those filters can enable faster learning as well as faster, or significant change.
Everything changes, except change itself.

Change is the only constant. Naturally whether for good or bad people do change, to the core at that.

I think a person can make changes... but there are some things at their core like you said that will never go away.
