Of course they would. They'll only go to war if it involves protecting their own interests. No government or enterprise would undertake such an expensive exercise (through financial costs or costs in lives of their own countrymen) for purely humanitarian purposes.
The UK and US know darn well that if they don't intervene with countries where our oil prices could be affected, our economies could potentially fall over altogether. Oil is such an important commodity within the Western economy, the key stakeholders in that economy (UK and USA) will fight at all costs to protect the price of it.
Although it's not a nice way to look at it and we criticise our leaders for such a seemingly hypocritical approach to war, they are actually doing it to protect the economies of their own countries.
If oil prices spiralled out of control we'd all soon know about it - and would be talking of nothing else whilst impoverished and queueing in bread lines.

The Zimbabweans are LUCKY they don't have any oil! That way, they don't have to worry about foreigners invading their country, killing their people and meddling in their internal affairs, like the Iraqis do!
I think Mugabe is right, by the way. Evicting the 1,000 White settlers who held the 50% of Zimbabwe's farmland that Cecil Rhodes stole in 1892 was long overdue!!! He may not have done it the best way, but SOMEBODY had to do it. His only mistake was not evicting the settlers in 1980!

Bully boy Bush would order in the US friendly fire expeditionary force within hours of oil being discovered. Claiming that the free world would benefit and Americans would have cheap gas.

It'd already be a steaming crater in the ground, covered with oil rigs and a big label "terrorist country" stuck somewhere on it.

Well, I guess no answer is called for - or are we supposed to agree or disagree? In that case I agree.
