Good penmanship is always a good skill to have, unless you are a doctor. Even if you don't use cursive that much, you should still learn how. Printing is often easier to read, but it is easier to write in cursive, once you've mastered the craft, and when you take notes in school, writing in cursive is much quicker, because you don't have to lift the pen off the paper as frequently. I use cursive far more often then printing. Most people do. Just like anything else, it just takes practice.

Yes, when you are first learning the fundamentals of cursive writing, it can be frustrating, but ultimately, as you get better at it (which means more practice) you can actually write faster by using cursive. It is an important skill to learn.

I would say cursive is very important, I used to not do it, now I do. It's great and faster for writing notes. It will also make you look smarter because you can still do it in this day and age.

Printing is for dumbasses seriously. You're writing like things are typed, it takes no skill whatsoever and it's slower, way way way slower, I think it's the most inefficient way to write.

Learn it, do it, your future self will be thankful.
