Sure Id be pissed if the money was spent on junk, but if she purchased groceries that would last the next 3 months, then not a big deal. My husband doesnt say a word if I spend 1000 a weekend, as long as it pays the bills and buys groceries and diapers for the baby. If i spent that much on junk hed sh%t a brick.

It sounds as if you need to rein her in with that kind of spending. You may need to set up a separate account that she cannot get into. Set up a budget that she has to abide by. Word to the wise: sometimes women spend a lot shopping because they feel empty and unhappy, or they feel inadequate in the relationship. Sometimes they want to be spiteful because it's the only way to get at the man for being inattentive. Questions: Are you loving and attentive to her? Do you make an effort to spend quality time with her? Check your relationship.

do you and your wife have separate accounts? was it your money, hers or belonged to both?
does your wife earn her own money?
have you and your wife discussed finances together? do you have an agreement that, when one wants to spend a large amount of money, you both talk it over first?
if large purchases are going to strap you financially, and you aren't able to pay the bills, this could be a problem, too.
perhaps you and your wife could discuss this again. maybe you could agree to start a "mad money" fund. this way, you and your wife will agree on how much can be spent on things other than expenses.
i think that a financial plan of some sort is a good thing to have.
sitting down to discuss one, might help?
good luck!

Look this is pretty simple. The only way she can get out of the fact that she is in trouble because she spent way to much money and probably on something that isn't a neccesity (SHOES) is by making you feel bad about it. That is exactly what all women say to their husbands or boyfriends to try to make you feel like a bad guy after we maxed out your credit card, just one of those evil things women do. Sorry to have to be the one to break it to you, sot here it is.

Maybe if you explain to her how you are thinking about the future for both of you and by spending money in mass quantities, she is defeating the purpose. Make sure she feels like you are actually more concerned about your future together and making it prosperous and full of things that the both of you together wanted and needed, and not just yourself and money, this should make it better for you. good luck. Remember , you are trying to secure the future. very important, this is what my husband tells me and it always pulls me into seeingthigs his way.

Okay; take away and destroy the credit cards and give her an allowance. My expendable income is $200 a month. See if she can get by on that.
