Do you think it would be better or worse or make no difference? Do you think they would increase or decrease their audience?

I think they should drop the age limit altogether. There are many talented people out there and I think they should have a chance at it too. The show IS called American Idol, is it not?? I believe that American has people of all ages and the show should too.

They've done that in the UK. "Pop Idol" (Which American Idol was a direct copy of) has been superseded by "The X factor" which has three categories: "16-25", "25 and over" and "Groups" (no age limit)

The three judges are Sharon Osbourne (wife of Ozzy), Louis Walsh (Irish pop supremo behind Boyzone and Westlife) and Simon Cowell (need I say more).

Apparently for the upcoming third series, Louis is leaving, two new judges are coming in and a new category will be added.

Yes - I would like to see older people get a chance at stardom. There are a lot of very talented musicians out there playing clubs, singing in church choirs and in the shower that will never get a break otherwise.

By older, I mean age 28 - 50.

Hey! Maybe we'll get to see Sanjaya's dad!

There was an American Idol kids one, that was for age like 9-15 or so, but it only lasted a season.

And there are other talent shows out there, that expect all ages.

i think american idol should stop being picky they only want their unemotional pop sound when there are hundreds of differnt styles of music they should challenge peole to sing in diffrent styles and the people who do that the best should win

No, if this season is any indication of things to come,
I think it's going to lose it's audience....

No one can tell me that SJ is worth staying another week.

I think it should be 18 or older or 19
and older to keep these teens from auditioning and making it on the show (Sanjaya)

I dont think it would matter....they make the contestants go through 2 auditions before they even get to audition for Simon and co. so they would just elimanate anyone who wasnt interesting enough like they do now.

No. I think people are getting tired of AI. It's pretty much run it's course.
